Lecture Series: Exploring Tagalog Linguistics

We are pleased to announce the following lecture series over lunch organized by our member Eva Huber:

“Lecture Series on Tagalog jointly organized by the University of Zurich and De La Salle University

The University of Zurich (UZH) and De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila will host an online lecture series on Tagalog. Each lecture will focus on a specific subfield, ranging from theoretical grammar over psycholinguistics to applied linguistics, and will be led by an expert of that field.

In light of the increasing attention to lesser studied languages in linguistics, this lecture series aims to celebrate and promote the study of Philippine languages as well as foster dialogue between different research communities and the broader public.

Eva Huber (UZH), main organiser of this lecture series, is the main study lead of a research project on the acquisition of Batangas Tagalog in the Municipality of San Juan. This project is in close collaboration with

Aireen Barrios (DLSU). As part of this collaboration, Eva and Aireen also conduct various side projects, such as leading workshops on methodological skills for students and now this lecture series.”
