The former ‘suitcase library’ (maletaklatan) of KuwentuhangSabado.com has found a new home last October 2022. Their children’s books from the Philippines are now accessible for children and their families anytime and can be borrowed free of charge. Towards this end, the intercultural library Kanzbi, which has been housing children’s books from all over the world on Kanzleistrasse in Zürich for nearly 30 years, is offering their infrastructure and services. This affords a significant addition to the library’s collection of Philippine children’s books.
The venue of the library offers several rooms, one of which serves as a cosy reading room, where tots can also find toys and cuddly blankets. This is also where Kuwentuhang Sabado held a reading on 28.10.2022 to celebrate their partnership with Kanzbi. Children’s laughter and the fragrance of lumpia and mocha chiffon cake filled the library with an air of Bayanihan as three generations met in the heart of Zurich for an evening of reading stories, singing and food.
